Bernard R. "Bernie" Simmons, age 84, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Sunday, September 26, 2021.  He was born on May 4, 1937 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of the late Perley L. and Nora (Gitchell) Simmons and was married for 42 years to Billie M (Shinafelt) Simmons.  Bernie was retired from Dresser Manufacturing, Wellsboro, PA and was a life member of the Wellsboro Fire Department and a former member of the Wellsboro Firemen's Ambulance Assoc.  He enjoyed hunting, gardening and doing yardwork.   He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.  He is survived by his wife: Billie Simmons, three sons, two daughters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.
