Doris R. (Adams) Smouse, age 93, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Sunday, July 4, 2021 in Wellsboro, PA.  She was born on Sept. 7, 1927 in Punxsutawney, PA and moved to Niagara Falls, NY in the 1950's where she raised her 8 children.  Doris was a daughter of the late James and Florence (Hawk) Adams.  She was the wife of the late Merle Smouse and was a member of the Dora Evangelical Church where she was baptized, married and now will be laid to rest.  Doris is survived by three sons: Merle (Halina) Smouse of Niagara Falls, NY, Samuel (Carol) Smouse of North Tonawanda, NY, David (Sheila) Smouse of Niagara Falls, NY, four daughters: Sonja Smouse of Niagara Falls, NY, Jenny Smouse of Wellsboro, PA, Minnie (Daniel) Morgan of Pendleton, SC, Ruth (Peter) Bogal of Grand Island, NY, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter: Rosetta "Rose" Smouse, Stepmother: Mae Adams, four brothers: Clair Adams, Russell Adams, Boyd Adams, Carl Adams, three sisters: Esther Kunselman, Edith Snyder, Mona Smithberger and a step-brother: Charles Schick. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 12 to 1 pm at the Dora Evangelical Church, Punxsutawney, PA.  Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Dennis Adams officiating.  Interment will be in the Dora Evangelical Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dora Evangelical Church, 2547 Timblin Rd., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.
