Obituary

He was born Oct. 9, 1931 in Wellsboro, a son of Orlando and Frances (Blair) Carson, and was the husband of Barbara (Suhr) Carson. Jim was a member of the Wellsboro United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  He was a member of the Hillside Rod and Gun Club, the Arnot Sportsman's Club, Sinnemahoning Sportsman's Club, May Hollow Sportsman's Club and the Morris Run American Legion Post 167. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the U.S .Army.  He worked as a coal miner, for the Wellsboro Electric Company and for Commonwealth Telephone Company for 33 years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Carson of Wellsboro, two sons, Jim (Teri) Carson, Jerry Carson, both of Wellsboro,;daughter: Jill (Steve) Owlett of Wellsboro, PA, sister-in-law: Joan Carson and four grandchildren: Kelci Carson, Blair Carson, Carson Owlett, and Olivia Owlett. He was predeceased by a son: Jon Carson, brother: William Carson, two sisters: Margaret Carson and Dorotha Kitlinski.

Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m at the funeral home with Pastor Rich Hanlon officiating. Interment will be in the Wellsboro Cemetery. www.carletonfh.com
