She was born Sept. 30, 1956 in Wellsboro, a daughter of the late Jerome H. Webster and Mary (Wiley) Webster Clark.  Janet was married to the late Jonathan H. Lawton and was a hard working farmer for most of her life. She received great satisfaction using horses to work the farm. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She made many woven gifts for her family and friends and derived great joy in being independent and self-sufficient in living off the land that she loved.

Janet is survived by her fiancé, Ray Statts of Wellsboro, his children, Lauren, David, Sarah Statts, all of Wellsboro, Samantha Statts of Westfield, two sons: Noyes (Sarah Brion) Lawton of Wellsboro, Nathan and Jessica Lawton of North Carolina, daughter: Rachel and Earl Teribury of Troy, a brother: Timothy and Karen Webster of Wellsboro, two sisters: Catherine and Thomas Janeski of Wellsboro, Linda and James Hoge of Waterford, 16 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Tioga County Fair Grounds, Whitneyville, with Pastor Dennis Crumb officiating.
