Maureen D. Babb, age 80 of Wellsboro passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at UPMC Wellsboro.  Born March 17, 1943 in Jersey Shore, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Wilda (Overdorf) Fleischer.  She worked for Nordstrom Department Store in Annapolis, MD and was an administrative assistant for the Tidewater Suicide Crisis Center in Portsmouth, VA.  Maureen married Terry V. Babb in Portsmouth, VA and they shared 29 years together; enjoying ballroom dancing for 25 years and traveling, both inside and outside the United States. She was a thrift store aficionado, finding all the good deals.  Maureen was a gifted artist; she loved sculpting with clay, oil painting, knitting, crocheting and fabric art.  She loved sitting in her Gypsy Wagon, watching the wildlife, often taking pictures and then duplicating the picture into a miniature painting.  She is survived by her husband, Terry; step-daughter, Amy (Troy) Sing of Portsmouth, VA; grandson, Tucker Sing; her sister, Kathy (Tom) McReynolds of Portsmouth, VA and her beloved dog, Dudley.  A Celebration of Maureen's Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.
