Raymond A. Kerr, age 98, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Friday, February 19, 2021. He was born on January 23, 1923 in Rush Run, OH a son of the late William and Gladys (Duggleby) Kerr and was the husband of the late Barbara (Mortensen) Kerr. Raymond was a WWII veteran serving with the US Navy as a fighter pilot in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a great storyteller who loved fishing, gardening, traveling and meeting with his veteran friends at the Native Bagel on Friday mornings. He loved the hills of Pennsylvania, the sunshine in Florida and was often heard saying "it's a great day to be alive". He worked for several businesses in sales and finance which took him to many parts of the country. Raymond is survived by two daughters: Patricia Watkins of Elmira, NY, Sue (Bill) Niles of Wellsboro, PA, He was predeceased by a son: Richard Kerr, and a son-in-law: John Watkins, Sr. He is also survived by a sister: Lois Foster of Brazil, IN, sisters-in-law: Anna Kerr of Indianapolis, IN, Mary Lou Gear of Kalamazoo, MI, Linda Mortensen of Kalamazoo, MI, daughter-in-law: Karolyn Kerr of Brazil, IN, four grandchildren: Susan (Alan) Poupore, Anne (Chris) Fenton, John (Kerri) Watkins, Jr., Justin (Ellie) Niles, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
