Robert J. Sargent, age 90, of Middlebury Center, PA, died on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.  He was born on November 14, 1930 in Blossburg, PA a son of the late William J. and Lillian E. (Hart) Sargent and was married to the late Olive M. (Button) Sargent.  He was retired from Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY and served in the US Army.  He enjoyed camping, hunting and loved participating in local parades by pulling floats and throwing candy to the kids.  He is survived by three sons: Steven Sargent of Middlebury Center, PA, Rick Sargent of ME, Brian Sargent of Middlebury Center, PA, daughter: Barbara Short of Wellsboro, PA, two sisters: Joyce (Clair) Mattison of Wellsboro, PA, Gloria Weader of Holley, NY, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Friends may call on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Kristi A. Webster officiating.  Interment will be in the Niles Valley Cemetery, Middlebury Center, PA.  Memorial contributions may be made to the UPMC Home Health Care and Hospice.
