Obituary

He was born June 11, 1929 in Flint, Mich., a son of John and Ellen (Visosky) Stager, and was the husband of the late Veronica (Tinder) Stager.  Tom served in the US Army, was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Wellsboro, and retired from the Wellsboro Post Office with over 35 years of service.  He was a past fire chief and 65 year member of the Wellsboro Fire Department and the Wellsboro Ambulance Association.  He enjoyed hunting, bowling and was an avid collector of Winross toy trucks.

Tom is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Mark and Sylvia Stager of Mansfield, Craig and Connie Stager of Boyertown, daughter and son-in-law: Nancy and Michael Northrup of Boyertown, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel Stager in 1963.

A viewing will be held Friday, Dec. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro, www.carletonfh.com.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. David Bechtel officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Wellsboro.
