Walter R. Lane, age 89, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Friday, November 29, 2024.  He was born on May 12, 1935 in Oaklyn, NJ, a son of the late Wells and Jenny (Chapman) Lane and was married for 55 years to the late Verna S. (Hollenbach) Lane who passed away in 2017.    He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the US Marine Corps.  Walter was retired from Dresser Industries, Wellsboro, PA and was an avid hunter, gardener, and a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan as well as a Penn State Football fan.  He is survived by a son: Michael (Lori) Lane of Wellsboro, PA, and three grandchildren: Steve Lane, Katie Lane and Sean Lane.  He was predeceased by a son: Robert Lane in 2007.  Services will be private and are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.
