Walter D. "Walt" Starkweather, age 85, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Saturday, October 18, 2025.  He was born on December 20, 1939 in Horseheads, NY a son of the late Fred and Florence (Hall) Starkweather, was married to Debra "Debbie" (Wetherbee) Starkweather and was the last sibling of 12 children.  Walt was retired from the PA DOT after 38 ½ years of service and enjoyed hunting, taking care of his lawn, helping others and especially spending time with his family and friends.  He is survived by his wife: Debbie Starkweather of Wellsboro, PA, daughter: Martha (Jeremy) Keck of Wellsboro, PA, grandson: Brandon (Nicolaa) Starkweather of Gaines, PA, sisters in law: Leda Starkweather of Wellsboro, PA, Sharon Banker of Wellsboro, PA, Mary Jane Cuda of Mesa, AZ, Linda (Ralph) Stock, Jr. of Liberty, PA, Brenda (John) Perry of Wellsboro, PA and several nieces and nephews.  Services will be private and are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. www.carletonfh.com Wellsboro, PA.
