William E. Gastrock, Sr., age 96, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. He was born on March 16, 1930 in Wellsboro, PA a son of the late Claude and Erma (Cavanaugh) Gastrock and was a retired truck driver for Guy Morral Trucking, Wellsboro, PA. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Army. He was always meticulous about his appearance. He loved his coffee, cigars and women. He was never shy about letting a woman know he thought they were beautiful. He loved to watch Gunsmoke and Mash and he loved to read about history, the wars and trains. He ate peanut butter and Nutella out of the jar and loved breakfast. He loved his family and was always there when they needed him, even if he ran his mouth the whole time he did it. He was a character and the heart of his family. He is survived by a son: William Gastrock, Jr. of North East, PA, daughters: Janet (Harry) Smith of Middlebury Center, PA, Violet (Randy) Ralph of Mainesburg, PA, Karen (Richard) Gamlen of Zephyrhills, FL, 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, lifetime love and mother of his children: Lillian (Kennedy) Gastrock, daughters: Diana French, Maureen Smith, Sylvia Gentner, Beth Gastrock, brothers: George Gastrock, Claude Gastrock, sisters: Loretta Gastrock and Roberta Smith.
